Hello, question?? I have the simpsons game. I was wondering what other games will work that I can just add in the cabinet, and switch the harness over. The harness plug syas jamma on it. I guess what I am looking for is what games will work that I can add in the cabinet and I can switch the harness, everything will line up to what ever game I want to play at any time and the controls will work, no mis-matches or any problems.

Can someone lsit me some games, if thats possible, I dont know, and need some help on the info

Thanks John

Pretty much anything JAMMA that isn't JAMMA + (few more buttons)
http://klov.com. Pick a game - if it states JAMMA you're almost golden. Depends on if your monitor is a standard res or medium res also

Dont forget vertical/horizontal, too Mr. Deadly. Your Simpsons cab will have the monitor mounted horizontally. You cant play vertical games on it (unless you want a really sore neck, lol ;):D)

Good luck! JAMMA games give you so much variety!

Best,

Jow

No need to be shamed Deadly. That's what us KLOVers are here for. A smorgasbord of information. What an amazing forum!

Thanks guys but now a little confused. I need some education, since I am still new to this. What is Jamma?? Just becasue it has a jamma harness it can play anything?I am confused about the whole jamma tuff, I see it all the time....

>> I need some info on this as I am lost about it, sorry,,,lack of brain cells.....

Jamma is the interface with the cabinet. By using a Jamma interface the board will look for the joysticks and buttons in the same spots. The power supply to the board is in a specified place and the video and audio outs are in the same place on each board.
As long as the controls of the game you want to play are the same or less than the controls of the game you plug into, you are good... for example if your cabinet has Four Joysticks with 3 buttons each, you can plug in a four joystick 2 button each card and it will read fine(or a 3 button for that matter)
But if you plug in a Jamma game that needs 3 buttons per joystick into a cabinet that only has two, you will not have that 3rd button, obviously, unless you add it to the cab.
In regards to monitor direction, I think that was covered...
Does that answer the question?

ok did some reading I understand it now, but have 1 more question. in order to use the jamma harness or the jamma setup, do I have to install a interface board on the say pac man pcb or any other pcb?

Think of it like a language:
Pacman is not Jamma, doesn't speak Jamma, only speaks Pacman- So you must have an adapter to plug a pac board in a Jamma cab or vice versa
Example: Non Jamma board in a Jamma Cabinet
http://www.jammaboards.com/store/capcom-classic-to-jamma-cabinet-adapter/prod_244.html
Allows you to plug a capcom(not jamma) board into a jamma cabinet.

jamma Board in a Non-jamma cabinet

(BTW I have not financial interest in Jammaboards, but they are nice guys)

ok, I think I got it now. So I would need the adapter depending on which way it is. Just have to have right adapter for the game or games from the same company, correct?

Yes, or build yourself, which with the current prices is not really cost effective but is fun :)
And you can do it for rare games, ie. I put a multi into a stratovox with an adapter and left all the original harware. It was a beautiful Stratovox too :) Restoration and utility :)

Dont know what kinda monitor you have but the different games have different resolutions. So you might have to readjust the monitor everytime you swap boards unless you have a newer monitor with auto sync.

I had this problem in my TMNT cab

It gets to be a pain in the ass redoing the monitor everytime you switch boards. ESP at a party.
