Multiple Donkey Kong boards in one cabinet

I would suspect their multigame board as well.. but I am doing this project right now with original boards.

Buy 3 nintendo to jamma adapters without color inverters
Buy Clays Multijamma kit with an additional switcher board.
Wire up the cabinet with a jamma harness and a couple
switching power supplies.

Plug all 3 boards into the multijamma kit and enjoy.

I'd like to figure out how to make a dedicated DK2 board
as the Dk2 mod uses the same buttons the multijamma
switcher uses for switching games (P1 & P2).Then I can
have all 4 games. I wonder if its as simple as burning the
roms and replacing the DK roms.

Its probably a multicade with all the other games set to OFF. I got sold something similar by another vendor. I found the control and opened up the other games. I like the look of the DK cab so I was fine with it.

I may be reading the description differently, I think he means you can have any one of those games installed in the new machine, not all of them at once. If you read down below he offers the ultimate upgrade of having both dk and dkjr in one cabinet.

Yeah, i think it's choice. That seems to be their price for most of their new dedicated single games.

My guess is he is using a parallel printer switch to switch over all the joystick, button, and video signals (although, the one I've linked to is only a 2 way)

I did the opposite. I wired the power through the switcher. I didn't want the boards to be powered all the time and there wasn't enough wires to do the entire harness. I was nervous that the switcher wouldn't work with power but it did. I tried a 3 way and could not get it to work correctly so opted for the 2 way.

Since I know a little about switch boxes (computer surplus for way too many years lol). I know they are not all built the same. There are some that only switch some of the wires and there are some that will switch all of the wires. The problem is that most computer vendors don't know if they do swtich all the wires or not. Lets face it there not a great demand for old printer switch boxes.

Since donkey kong uses a standard connector. I am sure that with a little thought a harness that plugs right in could be design.

Yes putting power through a swtich box is asking for trouble but you could rig up a 5 volt signal and a nice relay to switch the power across all three boards.

Interesting project.

There's also the risk of ESD damage due to switching these signals manually.

The joy/control panel would proably be ok... but I wouldn't want to switch the active signals (video / sound) or power with these switches.

i did this a few years ago. i had dk,dk2,dkjr,dk3,crazy kong, crazy kong jr,donkey king, and a 60in1 board all in my dk cabinet with clays multijamma switcher. now i have a nintendo row so no need for the multikong anymore.

I am pretty sure he's using one of his AS Multigame boards.

That is what I did. (note, 2nd photo shows 48-in-1... it's now an Arcadeshop Multigame)

How did you deal with DK2 using the same button combination (P1&P2)
to switch via dk and dk2 and clays switcher also using P1&P2? I'd love
to have a full nintendo row but I just dont have the room.

you have a dedicated button for switching between games. i just put it inside the coin door.
