Anyone ever seen one of these ? I haven't but I don't get around much I have a Danny Sullivan Indy Heat but this would be a great race game for a little variety.Multicade

Well, they kinda suck hard, simply because most of the games on them are multiplayer, and that's impossible with only one wheel. The one I saw even had Destruction Derby (edit- looked closer, this one does too), which is four player-- the third and fourth player scores were upside down at the top of the screen

Having multiplayer games included just smacks of the MAME cab mentality of 'we'll just throw it in so we can say there's more games, with no regard for the games themselves of course'.

Other than that, it isn't a bad idea, just a poorly thought out one IMO. Off-Road and Indy Heat are absolutely no fun without two other friends to play with.

good point, but can you set one up with two wheels?

I think that might be mame. With mame you could definately set one up with 2 wheels.

The auction in question is not MAME, it's a JAMMA multi board. After looking closer at the auction, this is definitely the same setup I saw at auction once, and I'm positive it's a Multi-JAMMA. I wouldn't be surprised if you could hook a second wheel up to the board, but how the hell would you make it work with that cab? Maybe if you had an empty twin sitdown to pop this thing in, that would be a lot better

That still wouldn't help with the three and four player games, but it'd be a huge improvement.

Neat idea but the game play would suck considering the steering wheel controls are different from game to game. Games like Champ Sprint you can turn the steering wheels continously and others the wheel only spins so far left and right before it stops.

What makes you think it is a multi-jamma versus MAME? The auction shows screen shots of a front end, and I have never seen a Multi-jamma setup that had a front end. I'd bet this is a MAME setup. Not that it matters. IMO such a setup would stink, no matter whether MAME or not.

I thought all the games listed were 360 degree steering wheel games.

on BYOAC.com I did see a mame cab that used 270 degree steering wheels that went 360 degrees with the removal of a pin or something like that... that was years ago though...

I've seen the exact same setup at an auction. I don't doubt that it could be MAME, I just doubt that I would see the exact same setup a few months later on a cab that also looks very similar. The way you picked the games on this thing reminded me of the 39-1 JAMMA boards too, thumbnails of screenshots. I guess I couldn't say 100% it was a JAMMA board, but it appears to include the same games as the one I saw, and if it were MAME, I'd expect to see more variation in the details, unless it was made by the same guy. *shrug* The one I played seemed more likely to be a JAMMA setup to me, it felt fairly professional, and I don't think they'd let a MAME cab be auctioned, whereas they allow the 39-1 JAMMA cabs.

I thought you were saying you thought it was a multi-jamma setup (meaning multiple jamma boards, not a MAME-on-a-board). I agree it could be a Jamma board, especially if you saw one that looked just like it somewhere else. Did the cabinet you saw previously look similar or totally different? Could it be the same game?

I don't think it's the same machine, but the marquee was the same. I'm guessing it's like the Multicades-- uses the multigame jamma board, and has an artwork set you can get for it somewhere. I suppose it could be the same machine, but I couldn't say for sure.
It's not a bad idea, but it's the same as 90% of the MAME machines out there, the wrong controls for half the games, and not very well thought out.
