Anyone convert a Space Invaders Deluxe? Just curious how it would look with the reflective background with black-light on and and with it off.

Get a fucking jamma cabinet for your multigame.

Ah, c'mon. Give him a break.

I think he's just curious as to what it would look like. I think some of us here can simply scare him out of the idea just by how much work would be involved in doing the project, rather than blasting him with obscenities.

Yep, it would be a ton of work......and look like shit:D

Ladies - Let's take a deep breath and dry our eyes :) .

I'm finally building one for myself and want to do something different. I've always liked what they did with SI and SID and was surprised few other company did this. I'd like to do something similar but wanted to see if anyone tried this in a SID cab and how it looked.

so I guess nows not the time to mention my custom Pong invaders :D

but where as some games might look ok I cant imagine things like DK, frogger of MR Do in space.

Yeah, many of the games don't play very well with the lit starfield/moonbase behind them. Others do quite well. It is a very 'neat' experiment. But mounting the color monitor after flipping the yoke is horrendous. Take my word. In the end, it just is not worth doing.

Horrific control layout. It can't be easy to play 6 button fighters with the buttons on the wrong side of the stick.

I was thinking of a different one I saw on there that had a 60-in-1 with the standard SI monitor orientation. I was wonderding if I would do that or not and realized I had already answered my own question. About 3 years ago, I got an original SI that had monitor issues. Worked fine otherwise. I never considered doing a multiproject. I sold it as it was for a hundo. If I had it back, I would probably do the same thing. The backdrop is cool and all but I am not sure that I want to play Ms. Pac-man on the moon.

Personally, I would find the effect to be a distraction on the majority of games on a Multicade board, and think it would actually decrease the value of the final product.

Use a generic "cut corner" Dynamo cabinet or similar for a Multicade, and simply install a Space Invaders "multi" chip if you're burning to have one in that cabinet...

SI is a classic cabinet, and mucking it up into a mutant would be a real shame.
