Yeah, in my mind I was saying"Pole Perversion"... Apologies for any confusion.![]()
He was framed! You should have heard the things the ho said to him! One even rolled her eyes at him! You can't do that to Willie! And by Sweetback Willie. Before he went to prison in '72. (and after he got out...)
I guessing this is here because someone converted a Burgertime... As conversions go, it was well done. I'd guess that the extra button was a probably later addition, to bring in the "multicade" option... Yeah, it's a shame it was a Burgertime cabinet rather than an old, beat up Ms Pac, but I have hard time getting upset about the multicade aspect and not knowing the context for the conversion, I can't get too upset there either -- if it was an operator looking at what was making money and what wasn't... well, that's the arcade business. If it was some individual "collector" who did the conversion, well then the deserve a slap up the side of the head with an... halibut!
I agree that its a very well done, bad conversion. I don't have any history on it. But its a shame all the same that a Burgertime died.I guessing this is here because someone converted a Burgertime... As conversions go, it was well done. I highly doubt an 80's operator took the time to do this "nice" conversion. Burger time was released a year after galaga. Typically it's older games getting the conversion treatment. That combined with the blue t molding makes me lean towards an arcade reseller/flipper who just converts any cab into top selling popular games, of which galaga is one. Whoever owns this now in the photo also has a centipede and a pin, so I imagine he may have picked it up cheap or via trade etc.I guessing this is here because someone converted a Burgertime... Even has the big metal pipe to smash it!
I think that's what an arcade cab looks like while being drawn and quartered by the king of England. .

Yeah this looks very good for a cheap operator conversion, so it's probably modern. With that said, the release date really doesn't matter. If it wasn't making money, it got converted to something that did, even if it was not in the 80's.I highly doubt an 80's operator took the time to do this "nice" conversion. Burgalaga.Burgergag?
I dunno, with the RIGHT shag carpet and enough joysticks and buttons…I wonder if i still have any pics of that terrible upright poker machine conversion i did early on in the hobbygod it was terrible
I completely agree with you. Money is the deciding factor. But no way an 80's operator takes the time to do it "right". Change the control panel if needed and the marquee and maybe paint the sides, but if its in a row, don't bother.Yeah this looks very good for a cheap operator conversion, so it's probably modern. Galaga will STILL make a little money in the right place, even now.
