I see those cabs for sale all the time that came from the factory with a bunch of games on them, and the people can never seem to move them. But then here on KLOV, people always recommend making some games into multicades and making "big bucks" with them.

If the ones that came built from a company with a variety of games aren't real good resellers, why do the custom-built ones seem to fare better?

Perhaps I'm missing some vital info (ie what the games are that are included, etc).

I think you are referring to the factory built Midway and Konami cabs. Those are toys that were built for children. The cabs are pressed board and the games are on a dedicated board that plugs into a TV's A/V ports.

The multicades people here build to flip are running the 48 in 1 or 60 in 1 boards. They are actual arcade cabs running (somewhat) closely emulated games.

Are you looking at retail prices? Retailers around here are selling them (or "trying to" would be the more obvious term) for around $3k. The average joe's on CL usually go around $700 or a little higher, far away from that retail price tag. I did a flip once at $700 and it sold 3 hours after I listed it.

Either that or you are comparing the 48-1 to a cheesy Midway Classics (Big Games), which are basically cheap, small cabinets with a cheesy small monitor and a cheap plastic control panel. But hey, its an arcade game so it must be worth hundreds, right?

dont waste your time or money on building them... they dont sell ...well not around here....

What would you consider pricing them right?500-800?
