multiasteroids/lunar lander artwork/cp interest?

You missed the interest thread for the kit a couple weeks ago?

Scott is activily working on it again I dont want to say any more then
that since its not my place.

I wouldnt be prepared to move ahead if it was going to be multiple years.

That interest thread has been around since the beginning of time. I wouldn't hold your breath about anything unless you've directly spoken to Scott and he's given you some inside info...

I was hoping to use my Lunar Lander control panel for the Asteroids multi game and be able to also have the skill lamps work but that will only be possible maybe at a later time. Till that time I can live with using just the thruster controller. So I would be totally interested in this project if it's done right.

I'd be in for the 'full meal deal' on this if it looks good (would like to see the art) and we're guaranteed to get the LL thrust controllers to go with it. Don't want to have to fab one of these from scratch if RAM doesn't deliver.

I am interested in a CP. I have an Asteroids and I just ordered a thruster. Please post a mockup of the cp layout you are thinking of.

I've spoken with Scott and have info.. Its just not my place to
share anything. If Scott wants to I am sure he will.

He posted and update...

A few early release kits are trickling out the door! I am slowly updating many of the asteroids multigame webpages so be aware there may be some out of date or inconsistent information during this transition period including missing photos and bad links. Hang in there!

+2 I would be in for a complete set.

Just a question regarding the mission control panel

What are your thoughts there? Instructions / gravity level etc :) Will they be lit up or just printed?

Scotts kit displays the mission control information on the screen so the mission control panel will not be on the CP/CPO. I believe he mentioned a future release might support lighting MC lights but not at this time.

I'd be interested in the CP but not sure about the CPO or marquee without seeing mock-ups.

But I'm excited to see this kit happen.

I am working with the screen printer right now to mock up some artwork.
Hopefully I'll have something soon to show everyone.

Sounds good :)
The lights aren't really needed if it's on the screen.
Cheers

The current selected mission is only shown prior to the game starting.
Its sort of a splash screen that is displayed briefly. In attract mode
when you press p2-start the splash screen is displayed with the
current mission. Pressing p2-start again (and again) cycles through
the missions. Once you start a game or after a certain amount of
time the splash screen goes away. If you change missions during
the game you will not know which mission is active unless you keep
track of the order as you press p2-start. Because LL is maxed out
on how many vectors it displays during gameplay, adding any type
of extra display indicators, letters etc to the gameplay screen could
affect timing, cause flicker and possible gameplay timing differences.
So I chose not to alter the gameplay screen at all. I did make
some improvements to freeplay and added the splash screen above.
See:

under the "Lunar Lander Mission Lamps" section.
Note this page is under construction and will be changing frequently
before this project is complete.

No plans right now for driving mission lamps as that would require
additional hardware, should there be a redesign someday I might
consider adding some outputs to the kit for that purpose. Right
now I dont have any available outputs on this design.
