So where's the best place to get MW control panels right now? I know Arcadeshop has some but I don't think I'm a fan of the start button locations or the price. Where are people getting them now? I want one that fits a Stargate cabinet, with the Back to the Arcade MW overlay (the Phoenix arcade original).

I have a really nice Stargate panel I was going to use for this, but it is in such nice, original shape that I don't want to destroy it for a conversion.

If it is like my original Joust panel, it has metal layer which is a pain to drill unless you have a friend in a metal working shop.

I used 1inch pine with bevel cuts to construct my own U shaped panel that fits the same as the original. Route or sand the edges to the desired curve.

Just use the same latches in the same spots and bolt it on. It'll work fine then you can drill holes wherever you like.

Ask Troy (Takeman is his ID here) if he still has any of the Multi-Williams metal control panels that he produced. They go great with the MW cpo that is available at BackToTheArcade.com.

I bought an old Stargate cp and filled all the holes with wood plugs and redrilled it for the MW cpo.
The Stargate cp also has no metal plate like the Joust cp.
I also routed the top surface to accommodate a piece of lexan so the dust washers are below the cpo and not on top.
I used small nuts and bolts and adhesive, along the front edge,to hold the lexan in place.
Here are some pics.

Lexan installed and ready for primer.

Yeah I thought about doing that, but in the end I think my panel is too nice. Anyone need a Stargate dedicated panel for a restoration? I'm willing to trade to get somewhere with this. I might have someone interested in it already but if that falls through I think I am going to sell or trade this to acquire another panel that I don't feel bad using for a MW.

Yea I wouldn't ruin a good cp for a MW cp.
That is why I used one with a trashed cpo and not populated.

I've got an original wooden Joust panel with no overlay and has the metal plate. $20 shipped if you want it.
