I'm thinking about getting a multi board are there any options of ready made control panels for this that would fit on my Joust cabinet? Ideally I'd like something complete and ready to plug and play without having to add anything.

I was afraid of that. I was hoping another company had it. The times I've dealt with arcadeshop I got the feeling there was a 50/50 chance they didn't know if they did or didn't carry what was right there on their page. " No really if you'll look on your web page...'well we must not carry it anymore' " Really pros over there at customer service.

Arcadeshop has them listed:

Best thing to do is call and inquire.

I made a purchase one time from them and they were quick to take my money but never informed me that what I ordered they did not have. I finally called a few weeks later to inquire about my order and that is when I was informed that they did not have a small sticker I ordered in stock so they held up the rest of my order. Thanks for the head-up AS.

Yep - I was hit with the same shit. Ordered, called a week later and was told the order was being held up because an item or two weren't in stock. AS' website is a complete freakin eye sore to look at. Unorganized crime if you will.

As far as I'm concerned, if you run a business you damn well better have real time inventory. Clearly whomever created that website doesn't have a clue of how to offer that. At this point Steven would be better off posting a freaking Excel spread sheet so they could actually have an inventory. I've always thought that website was the weakest one I've ever seen.

Im sure this info has been posted before but couldnt find the previous post.

Looking for a 19-1 Multi Williams manual or some info on how to wire the control panel. Im doing a MW project and am not really familiar with the games aside from Joust. Just curious before I start ordering parts. Confused with the button layouts since there are a few two player games. Any help is appreciated.

There is some serious button conflicts with those 19-1 PCBs.
You have to run extra wires all over the place and put toggle switches on a couple to avoid conflicts. A classic is while playing Defender, if you move the main joy left or right it will reverse and thrust the ship so you need to 'turn off' that with a toggle.

...

Yes they do.. I wouldnt waste my money on that board.
the control set up is a joke on those PCB's.
Also the game combinations..

I choose to use alternate vendors than arcadeshop for a number of reasons. (A) Poor customer service after the sale. (B) I was told "untruths" on more than one occasion by the owner (or the voice/email identifying themselves as the owner). (C) The overly pleasant woman on the other end of the phone... she was just SO pleasant I couldn't stand it. (bleeding sarcasm evident?)

In defense of Arcadeshop, I would like to say that I have ordered from Arcadeshop many times in the past, and I have never had a problem with their service or their products. Yeah you have to phone in your order since they don't have online ordering, but I get my stuff the very next day. Also, I get the parts from them that I either can't get anywhere else, or they have the best price on. And of course, I know what partsto avoid getting from them.

That being said, I have never bought any of the AS Multiboards. I have not used the JROK Multiwilliams boards either but I hear they are way better than the AS multiboards if you are doing a MW setup.

I have done 2 Multiwilliams machines so far and I have always used a MAME PC setup for several reasons:
1) Controls are infinately configurable
2) You can get more Williams games on a MAME setup than an AS or a JROK (Smash TV, Total Carnage, Joust 2, Mystic Marathon, Inferno, Narc, Hit the Ice, etc)
3) In addition to the Williams games, you can get a lot of other classic games
4) You can use a PC VGA monitor (31KHz) or an arcade monitor (15KHz) if you know how
5) You can configure your own front end menu as there are dozens of frontend applications available for MAME
6) A PC/MAME setup cost me less than 1/3 of what the AS multiboard cost, and a little less than the JROK setup

I normally do MW machines for home owners who like the MW artwork theme, but also want Pacman, DK, Galaga, etc. and may not have room or desire to get multiple machines. So I stick with the MAME/PC setup.

Whether you use an AS Multi board, a JROK board, or a MAME setup, it should be what will best suit your intended application for the MultiWilliams machine.
