multi williams build questions - control panel and bezel

so, i'm officially entering the multi williams club. questions though regarding a couple things.

1. arcadeshop sells the panels in both long and short lengths. being a sinistar cab, i need a short panel. i'm going for the un populated one, as i have all the sticks and whatnot to complete it. however, does anyone sell a cpo that fits this panel? i see arcadeshop sells a cpo for the long (robotron style) control panel, but that is what, an inch longer?

i'd like to go with the 'williams multigame' overlay rather then the 'multi williams' one as i think it's a bit classier and nicer looking art.

2. bezel wise - does anyone know of a multi williams bezel that will fit the narrower sinistar cab? unless i can find one, i'm thinking of having gameongrafix (mamemarquees) make me a robotron bezel to size (for it's relative plainness) that i can put on the plain smoked glass on there right now.

I created my own bezel for my Williams Multigame... it is very similar to the Phoenix Arcade version but different... I'd happily send you the file to modify the size on so you can send it to gameongrafix.com if you want it...

This is what it looks like:

Its a shame noone sells the 'williams multigame' bezels and marquees
anymore. Like you, I htink its a nicer design then the arcadeshop version.

I picked up a CPO from Phoenix arcade.

A KLOVian was selling the bezels... he may still have some... I wanna say his nick is TANMAN or something similar...

Just as a FYI...

That ebay linked marquee is an inkjet repro. The originals were screened plexi.

Yes it is but it is pretty nice.
I bought one and put it between 2 pieces of plex.
It will do nicely till I find a silkscreened one.
The guy who makes them will do them in any size you need.

ok, so looking around, i have pretty much figured i'm going to buy the arcadeshop control panel. however - does anyone know of a williams multigame style CPO like frizz's up above that would fit properly? i found one on artwork doctor's website, however the arcadeshop panel does not have the two flap buttons, as well as the inviso/fire buttons drilled evenly.

i know the fix for this is to just go with the arcadeshop art, but i still don't like it, nothing against arcadeshop. i can't justify a) the weird font, as others have said, but also b), the fact it advertises moon patrol when i'll be using a pcb that doesn't offer moon patrol/.

i know one option is to simply get the blank panel, and drill the holes myself, however i would need a template to drill them, and a suggestion on a bit that would actually drill the holes. i've not had much luck drilling holes in metal cp's.

finally, for those that have used arcadeshop's metal control panel, have you gone with microswitches? i'm not really a huge microswitch fan, so has anyone mounted leaf switches? looks hard being that there isn't anything to attach the screws of the leaf switches to. although, i have two leaf switch wico sticks that are going in, and only the buttons would be microswitches, so i could potentially live with that.

I use the Arcadeshop metal CP and it houses microswitched buttons. Not too bad a deal IMO, but for certain, installing leafed Wico sticks is the way to go. I too could not find a Phoenix CPO so I just went with the Arcadeshop one:

I still need to add change the t-molding to red, and find a new speaker grill.

Also, yes the link I provided is inkjeted; it arrives in a tube. Sorry to not have pointed that out. But as Prevuously mentioned, it is a nice substitute. I should get one for the above Stargate cab, but I dunno..

Good luck with yours! It is a fine addition to any game room!

I believe 1 1/8" knockpunch is what you need for buttons.
I couldnt find one in a generci kit like the HF one so I bought a
greenlee one from amazon. What guage metal are CPs? some of the
cheaper ones cant do thicker metal.

My bezel was printed at gameongrafix... it can be resized to any size you want.

AVOID ARTWORK DOCTOR! You've been warned.

thanks frizz. just dl'd it. now one question - when you send the dimensions of the print you need, do you measure the entire bezel glass, or just the part that is visible and not the part that goes behind/under the control panel.
