No, Bubbles just needs a regular 8-way. Blaster is the one which can also use a 49-way. Although, IMO, it doesn't seem to add much to game play. - James

I'm pretty sure that was it. But it will work with a standard switched 8-way. Also back of my mind I think there was something about some cabs having optical and some with switched. - James
