Is SNK alone in having done multi-slot cartridge based machines, or have there been others? I know Sega ST-V has multi-slot support in the BIOS, but I can't find any evidence such a board was actually made.

Lookup Nintendo Playchoice 10...

Still can't touch Neo-Geo!

There is a cart based multigame that uses an Atari 600/800 computer ... can't remember the name of it though. I do remember it plays Boulder Dash though. Then there is the DECO system...

Totally forgot about Playchoice...

...but I'll pass. If I wanted to play NES games in an arcade machine, I'd rig up a MAME setup and use MESS ;)

Neo Geo forever man.

I'm looking specifically for game systems that were sold in a game-generic cabinet with more than one slot for games and a way to switch between them, DECO and System1/2/4 were one-game-at-a-time. Thanks though :)

So Sega tried to cash in on the "arcade preview" thing too huh? Fascinating. I bet those are quite rare.

I was kinda hoping someone would dig up an actual proper arcade system instead of these "preview" hardwares :/ That said, I think owning a Super System would be pretty badass.

You're going to be hard pressed to find a large list outside of the "preview" hardware. Even MVS was technically "preview" hardware...so...I mean...there may not even be a list at all. :p

yes, exidy max-a-flex system. It runs on a 600xl. I bought some multicarts for it, but its not a multislot game.

Deco is a single load cassette and dongle system. Dave widel made a multigame for it, but its not multicart.
