Hello all,

I have one of the original 6 in 1 Q*bert multigames in my cabinet. Recently it has developed a problem where when someone hits the player 1 / player 2 buttons to bring up the menu to select a different game - it will not switch to the menu.

It will start a game of the currently selected game. The only way to get it to go to the menu is to power it off and back on - then it comes up to the menu. I know that both player 1 and player 2 buttons are functioning because I can play either type of game - just not get to the menu.

Anyone have a similar issue with your multi-Q*bert?

TIA
Tom

The only time this happened to me is when I had set the 'boot-to' game as Mello Yello Qbert rather than having it boot to the multi menu on the dip/game set-up screen. Then, no matter how many times 1&2 were pressed, it would only come back to Mello Yello Qbert. I have the 7 in 1, later revision.

I did not remember a dip switch / setup menu screen on my multiqbert so I turned it on last night and my version does not have a setup menu. Must be something new with your version?

I did discover that if I started a game and right when the game ends if I was pressing the p1 and p2 buttons down, it would switch to the selection menu. So I guess if all else fails - I can always do that...

Thx

You have to throw the test switch into test mode before powering the machine up. Then power it up. flipping the test toggle to game then switches to the next set-up menu. Least it does on my version.

I must of had a senior moment...I totally forgot about the test switch! I'll give it a try tonight and see what I find.

Thanks for the tip - and memory jog!
