Since I decided to finally pull out my 4 year old Pac-man project today, I figured that I'd better start putting together my multi-pac CP as well. It's built with parts bought at different times from all different parts of the country. Got the pre-fabbed and powder-coated Multi Pac CP from Arcadeshop. I then acquired a custom CPO file from a friend and had Rich print it for me. I next went to Bob for a new 2 1/4" translucent trackball w/illumination kit and a repro/custom 8-way Pac/Galaga joystick. Finally I purchased lighted buttons with chrome collars from Bryan out in Hawaii. This thing cost me about $150 to build. Even without a power source to light up all the hardware yet, I think it looks pretty sweet. Even though the blacks are clearly different shades, the texture of the powder coating on the CP matches the texture of the CPO almost perfectly:
Now the original cp on this machine was hacked to install Capcom Bowling many years ago by some op, so though I wanted to use it, it really was unsalvageable. It was drilled with several misaligned button holes, a large jagged 3" TB hole, hacked plywood, hideous overlay that was peeling, etc. It finally met the trash can today. I hope to have this Pac project done within the next 30 days, at which time I can finally get a pic of it all lit up. We'll see how that goes.
