So one of my first cabs I picked up was a Bad Dudes I bought on craigslist for $150 from a guy who's uncle surprisingly ran the arcade I used to go to as a kid. So it is a giant memento for me and I don't think I'll ever get rid of it. With that I was thinking about building out a multi-jamma data-east cab around it. I'd like to do so without any physical hacking of control panel or wiring and was wondering if people have any suggestions on boards I should get as well as a recommendation on a good 2/6/8 in 1 jamma board. I've seen varying reviews of everything I found.

So far my list consists of:
Karnov
Robocop

Not sure there's much else.

Shoot out is a pretty fun DE game, I knew someone that had a board, cp and marquee at one point. I was going to use that for my old BD cab, but I sold the game before I ever got a chance to go through with it. I'll PM him and see if he still has it, if you want. Let me know.

Karnov is a fun game, but I think it requires 3 buttons and not 2, so you might what to consider that in your choices of games as well.

Yeah I realized that but since DE always does the 2 button sets for right/left handed players I might take the one of the left handed sets and wire in the 3rd button with one of the left hand buttons and just keep the wiring in there to keep it original.

I have one of these: http://www.multigame.com/jamma.html

Pros - can handle 8 boards at once
Cons - needs an extra power supply, keeps all the boards powered on.

I got one of these for Christmas and will be switching it into my multi-JAMMA Cab: http://www.jammaboards.com/store/6-in-1-multijamma-switcher-pcb/prod_250.html

Pros - Only powers up one board at a time.
Cons - 6 boards instead of 8

Are you trying to stick with just Data East games, or any horizontal JAMM game that uses 2 buttons?

FYI - Trying to play a 3 button game where one of the buttons is on the other side of the joystick from the first 2 buttons is going to make it pretty much unplayable.

I might buy the 6 switcher then. Thanks for the heads up! The 8 switcher sounds kinda ridiculous and a fire hazard firing that many boards off inside of a vessel made of wood.

As for what games I'm putting in it, I'm sticking to only standard horiz jamma Data East games, preferably 2 button. I have thus so far planned/ordered: Bad dudes, Robocop, Karnov, Captain America & Avengers.

As for the 3/2 button conversion, I'm going to attempt to wire the select button to the other side, which although detracts from the gameplay a little, the whole inventory system in that game was kinda odd altogether and I don't think it'll make it unplayable at all.
