Has anyone tried one of the multi game systems?

I just bought one from play n trade and it did not work. It feels very cheep. I thought this was a good idea to get the old games I rember when I was a kid since it plays nintendo, the main thing I wanted, super nintendo and sega. The guy at the store talked me into one of these because he told me the nintendo has issues and since this is a top loader it was better. The first thing after I hook it up nothing. After playing with it I get it to work but cannot play anything and the screen is rolling. My girlfriend takes it back and the have the same issue. They replace the a/v wires and get it to work. She comes home with it and the same thing. Seems like the switch to change between games does not work. The gun does not work right. They feel very cheep. There were a couple of games that would not work, it was like the controller did nothing. Has anyone had any luck with these, Good or bad?

I have a fc twin, I love it, plays everything I want except for 3 games and it sucks that there the 3 I wanted more than anything.. super ghouls, paperboy 2 and something else

My girlfriend just came back from the play n trade store and ended up with a nintendo. Seems kind of strange that it does not want to work very good, since they repair and clean I would have thought they would clean it before they sell it. My son has a friend who told him he has 2 nintendows so they went to get one and see if it works better. I think I am going to order one of these and see if it is better.

the fc twin and other fc ones are pretty bad and cheaply made and don't play all the games.

I would suggest the retro duo, which is more solidly built and plays the games that the fc twin doesn't, like Castlevania 3.

The nice thing about the retro duo (and similar clone systems) is that you can plug in the real peripherals to them, and you're still getting the enjoyment out of owning real games with boxes, manuals, etc.

I bought a retro duo about 3 years ago. still works great. Haven't ran into a problem with it yet.

Most of the clone multi-systems generally are crap.
Poor build quality, poor emulation, crap controllers, etc. The RetroDuo console has decent build quality, at least.
The thing about RetroDuo and most other consoles is you can't plug in the controllers for NES, Genesis, etc., only Super Nintendo.

I stick with real hardware, but if you want a new clone system, I would go with the RetroN 3

making nes to snes adapters is real easy..

**I mean changing the plug on the end

I wanna pick up a retro duo, didnt know they could play the games the fc twin couldnt! thanks for that!

The thing I like about the one I bought is that you can use the real controllers. I bought that to see how well it is built. If it seems good I might give one of there other ones a try, not sure how much I would play super nintendo or sega plus the fact that they are allready top loaders I might just go with the real one.

I woundn't buy or play any of those crappy new systems that play the old carts, or use an Xbox to play the old games on emulators. Just play the old games on the original systems the way they are suppose to be played. That's all I've ever done and I love it.

The problem I have been having is that the nintendo is very funny on working. I was told the way it loads couses problems, thats why I bought a top loader. I have had 3 nintendos and have a hard time getting them to work everytime.

You need one of these. http://www.nintendorepairshop.com/p...Repair-Part/?gclid=CN7fj8Wao68CFaYBQAodXn4SZA

I bought one of these years ago, just in case mine went bad. Never did replace it. The good new is you don't have to solder it on. It just pushes on. Only takes a few minutes to replace.

BTW the reason I went with the modded Xbox is to play all the games I could never have afforded back in the day. And I still can't afford them even a $5 apiece (there are over 700 of them!).

These days you can also get flash carts for all the old systems if you want to play roms on the original hardware. I'd like to go that route one of these days, but no one ever said those flash carts are cheap...

I have a Harmony for the Atari 2600 and I love it.
I think the other ones are a bit of a hassle.

My new system showed up today. It works great, loads right up and uses the orig. nintendo controllers. The games I have I had a hard time getting them to load on the nintendo but not a problem with this new system. It does feel a little better then the first one I bought.
