Ok. I am aiming to be as clear and simple as possible here regarding getting this Gauntlet cab up and running!! Proper restoration can come later!! My main intention is to get the guts of the machine working.

All previous ramblings (and I am still a newbie by the way... so go easy on me!), communications and photos can be seen and read here

******************************
Summary of previous info
- Red light shows on Game PCB
- Not enough power getting to Monitor
- Sound is garbled but garbled sounds respond to button pressing as if going through screens (which i cant see because of no monitor - yet!)
- Some definite bodging/modding has occured in this cab. Some cables just snipped in seemingly random places. (see previous threads if interested).

Relevant Stuff I Have discovered
- This Gauntlet is an Irish cabinet (I am in UK)
- AR3 Audio/Regulator Board used so no need for sense modification (although there are some spade pins that say sense '+' '-' on the AR3 board... are they for testing voltage provided?)
- Previous owner bodged a Switching Power supply into the cab which piggybacks power from the main On/Off Switch and was, when I purchased it, sat next to the main Linear PSU chassis... SP delivers power towards the coin slots area (NOT the switches themselves, looks more like it feeds the bulbs... need to confirm that is spose.
- According to the schematics, The Irish build used a Linear PSU, NOT a SMPS... The mind boggles.

Stuff I am trying next
- Have replaced the Bridge Rectifier, Just about to power up PSU chassis and check whether the AR3 board is being delivered 10v DC.
- I will remove the SMPS because I am trying to work fro the schematics and there simply isnt an SMPS in them for the Irish build.
- I cant write the monitor off yet until I have figured out how to get correct voltage to it, so I may follow MODESSITs advice and remove some insulation of monitor voltage in and voltage out close to the transformer to make sure the transformer is doing its job...

Everything is about sorting the very basics at the moment!!!
Wish me luck... more info (and pics) to come...

Had an evening of printing relevent schematics and checking voltages... getting no readings.... then realising that the fuse in the multimeter was blown... more tomorrow...

Did notice the Bridge Rectifier getting hot... probably normal...
