It's been many years ago I printed these on glass and since then the printed I used closed shop and I didnt get any of my films. So courtesy of Rich Lint here is the proto bezel. I know there are several versions floating around and we can't please everyone.

I welcome your feedback.

Btw, the art for the Galaga glass bezel is done and doesn't need review. I want to print all the bezels at once.

Thank you
Darin

Wow, those look great. The orange allignment will need to be changed.

Any idea on the price?

A couple of points of interest Id like to point out.
first unforunately the orange misregistered on my test print so please keep that in mind.

But while working on this found some differences in comparing scans, pics online, and the orginal piece I had to work from. Special Thanks to OregonArcade.

but the most noticable difference I discover was the border color of the instructions.
as both the scan I orginally used and other pics Ive seen were ORANGE.
but the orginal piece I used for reference and this test print I did was RED.

I tried to focus alot on the smaller details here as pointed out in JeffRothes Blog
though somethings arent as easily controlled such as font weights.
But did intenionally misregester some of the colors as I felt it was orginally intended.
But Im pretty sure everthing is spelled correctly :D

Pac, MsPac and Galaga glass marquees are being done by another printer and start as soon as Tapper glass marquees are done. I'm hoping to have them by the end of May.

Personally, I like the red better (but of course it'll be fixed)
I don't know if it's me or what, but the blue looks more like a baby blue as apposed to Ms. Pac blue (probably since this is a picture) and some screening looks a bit "sloppy" and unclean, though it is a proto.

As for marquees, at the bottom of this page:

There is a comparison between your repro and the original, just thought I would point out. Not that there's anything hugely wrong with them now, just the radius of the edge curves, extra hair mark, add orange, whiten blackened highlights, and the M in Man and you're set.

Sorry, just being nitpicky here.

Edit: My Ms. Pac has the red.

wow look for Adam to chime in shortly because surely he's stalking jrpac...with that said.

looks great to me. I'm in for a couple when your done.

All of those differences fall well into the "Who cares" territory.

Rich happens to be friends with Jeff, who wrote that article. I'm sure if he wants a valued opinion, he will turn to him. Hell, Jeff has probably seen the artwork and chimed in already.

You already pointed out the miss-alignment Rich; otherwise these are beautiful. Great job guys.

Depending on price I'm in for 2 possibly 3. I currently have 2 cabinets and need the glass for both and I am always looking for another project 60 in 1 and Ms Pac is one of the most beloved cabinets. Also cannot wait for glass marquees.

As always Rich and Darin you two are the BEST!!!! Definately seen my favorite work from you two.

Jpac, OMG, next time a softer tone and sending him a PM might be more appropriate with such strong critism being that you and Darin are not on greatest terms. You know you are going to catch crap for this right?

Would you offer a pre-sale price for overlay, bezel, and glass marquee?

I don't necessarily have a problem with JrPac. However, he comes off as the foremost authority on everything pac-man related because he's done research over the past "few" years.

If he is truly as young as he says, I commend him for his passion. However, what he fails to realize is most of us have been researching these games for 25-30 years and his attempted expertise puts most of us off.

Rant off....back to the topic. I'm still in for at least one :)

Yeah, Jr. Pac has read everything, but has zero field experience. I was reminded of him when I went to an auction a few weeks back, there was this one late teen kid there with his parents toting a huge extension cord (obviously because he had read the FAQ on auctions but had never been to one to know that bit of info is incorrect in our area). He was walking around talking really loud, and looked at the row of dead Ms. Pac machines, and I clearly heard him say ("I don't know if I want to spend $50 on one just for the bezel). I heard that and knew he had zero real life experience (there was a whole row of ms pacs without boards or monitors and none went below $125 and frankly that is cheaper than I thought they would go).

Its only original once, a repro art piece is a repro art piece and if you have to put it next to an original to notice then it is more than good enough.

looking forward to these and the galaga pieces. good work to the both of ya.

Think I'm in for a Ms. Pac Bezel. Mine has one nasty scratch. I gotta pull apart My Galaga bezel yet and take a good look before deciding on that one. Prob will skip the marquees as I have Your Plexi ones.
