Can anyone let me know what the problem is with this game? It just stays like that. The game is part of a warehouse find and I want to see if it is an easy fix or if I will be looking for new boards.

Thanks

Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong with my board or how I can get it running. My next option is a Ms. Pac to jamma adapter and a 60-1 but I would prefer not to hack the CP and add buttons for that.

Are all the roms there that should be? Have you removed the board and reseated all the ROM chips? Checked the voltage from the power supply? Checked for bad solder connections?

Contact RIPTOR he is the pacman king.He should be able to help you out or you could just send it to him to fix it .He fixed two of my boards and know they are perfect. Just a thought .PEACE!!

Hmmm...

I've seen a bad ribbon cable or bad ROM on the daughter board cause that.

It's easy enough to isolate. Unplug the ribbon from the main board, take the Z80 CPU off the daughter board, and plug it into the main board where the socket was. If it boots and runs as a Pac Man (with funny looking Pac character) then the issue is on the daughter board oa r with the ribbon cable.

Those ribbon cables get stiff with age and people tend to yank on the ribbon cable when removing it which breaks it. It should be removed the same way as an IC chip to protect it from breaking.

Based on what I see, I'd guess Rom or Ram errors. Will it go into test mode? You ask, "What do I need to do?". There is a switch inside the coin door. To operate it, flip the switch and restart the game. See if it will give you error codes. Nice find...if you can get it cheap pick it up or someone else will.

I posted this a month ago and got no responses and today you guys are awesome. Thanks everyone. This should give me enough info to get this thing going so I might just bring it home on my next trip.
