So, I have another Ms Pacman to restore. I had originally intended to make this into a Class of 81 machine, but I found a good Galaga cabinet to do that with, so I thought that this could be restored to her former glory.

She has some water damage at the bottom of the cabinet, but it is still structurally sound. The artwork is a fair bit better than the last two that I had, but has a little bit of damage at the bottom.

I tried to start her up, but it had two blown fuses, and when I just swapped in some extra fuses I had from another machine, it did power up a little. I ended getting some jarbelled mess on the screen that never really did anything but flicker. I couldn't get anything out of the sound when I tried to coin up, and my voltage readings on the board were a bit low. I thought about trying to switch over the power supply to a switching power supply but that might not be the issue. I ordered a fuse kit for it, but I don't know if that will solve all my issues either.

Here is a look at the Power supply:

Here is a look at the board set:

I was wondering if anyone knew what monitor this is and where I can get a capkit for it.

And lastly, here is her serial number:

You can get fuse holders from Twisted Quarter, Arcadeshop, Mikes Arcade, etc...any standard electronics outlet, really....nothing special about them....just fuse holders that screw into the wood, then you attach wires on each side.....pretty blah....

But a good idea!

So this weekend, I got a little bit of time to work on this. I replaced all six of the fuses, and that still didn't fix the issue. I was still getting a garbled mess on the screen. Granted it looked more like game play than it did before. So, I tried my standard fix for Ms Pacman boards, I took it out and cleaned all the dust and junk off of it, and pressed every chip to make sure that they had a good connection.

I plugged it back in, and bam! It works! I need to get a capkit for the monitor, as it has a line that scrolls left to right, but the game works! It even has the speed chip in it!

So now, I just need to put in a capkit on it, and then start dealing with the water damaged parts at the bottom.

I finally got around to ordering a capkit for this project. Hopefully, I can get this one up and running soon. I have a couple of machines in the priority list ahead of it though.

hopefully it gets done, id like to see it finished.. mine taken back seat currently, due to hard to find 19" tv locally and now my car took dump on road today and in middle of traffic in rain.. it looks like I may do unthinkable and toss in a lcd temp and get it finished and etc... but gotta fix car first arrg
