Hi I am looking to buy a mini ms pacman in great shape and I went to klov to check if the mini i was buying looked the same as the original, anyways when i looked on klov it app that it has a decal below the joystick and buttons on the black metal part as well as a decal where there is a joystick and buttons but when I looking at the manual at a mini ms pacman there is no decal there and when i looked for repo decals there r none to buy so ? is is the original mini ms pacman come with this decal thanks for any info on the matter d(-_-)b

That is almost painful to read and try to understand but I'll try to help.

The control panel (the metal part with the joystick, buttons and such) has an overlay on the top (around the joystick) and is available, but it is not a good repro. The front of that metal piece has a graphic on it and as far as I know there is no replacement right now. The original was silkscreened directly on the metal.

It is okay to leave the 'sent from my blackberry' line when you make a post like that. ;)

very strange

I asked someone at twobits.com.What he said was only the pacman mini came with the front decal and that it was painted on,so if this is true then why have I seen a few mini ms pacmans with the front decal.Where r they getting them from ????????????????????

I know the guy who had the front part of the Ms Pacman mini repro'd. PM me and I will give his contact info.

First off, ignore the pictures in the manuals since those are not always correct for Midway games, and this includes both the Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man minis.

Without a doubt, both Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man minis came with silkscreened artwork on the front the CP facing the player. This is different than the CPO that was on top of the CP (http://www.pac-man.com/partPic.html?images/mpminio.jpg) with the joystick and buttons sticking through it. The picture on KLOV is correct (http://www.arcade-museum.com/images/118/1181242138308.jpg).

If games were converted then chances are good that front artwork was painted over which is why some of these minis don't have it. Also, as Pacray said, someone did make front CP artwork repros of both the Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man minis. I have used them myself to restore games, but these are stickers and the originals were silkscreened.

As to the statement made by Two-Bits, this is a case where they were simply ignorant to the truth. To my knowlege, all Midway minis from 79-82 came with front CP artwork except for Galaxian. I have pictures of all of these minis and have seen numerous dedicated Galaxian minis without it.
