I have a Ms Pacman cocktail game that has a Pacman PCB that was converted using 2532's. I was given the game a couple years ago, and with a little work on the powercord, got it to work. I played it for a few months and then had a poor edge connection that was creating heat. I put the game in storage, but would like to get it working again. So far I have repaired the edge connector, installed a new flyback, cap kit, and HOT. Everything now (mostly) works well... Except that the letters and numbers only have the left half visible and they are repeated. The verticle dots in the maze are also doubled up, and the characters look like they are going behind black verticle bars about 1/2" apart. I replaced the chip at 4E after reading Lawnmowerman's site. No change. Here is a picture of the screen. Any ideas?

I have downloaded the manual and read through it a few times. I don't see anything that is very similar to my problem. I am hoping that it will be a case of " oh, I had (or saw) this problem once, it is the XYZ chip that has a bad pin." I might be hoping for something a little too easy, but I thought I might get lucky. Thanks to everyone checking out my problem!

Wiggle the vram card while someone watches the screen and see if it changes. You may want to pull the card and see if any pins are bent and not making it into the socket.
After that I would check out the ribbon cable.

Ok, sounds great! I will check out the vram card, replace 1E, and 1F. Thanks again!
