I have had this machine for several years - and had put off restoring it.

Now I'm in Ms PacMan restore mode! This has always been an issue with the machine. It does it all the time no matter what.

The right side of the screen has wavy shakey lines. I uploaded the video to YouTube.

Anyone have any suggestions what it could be and how to fix it?

Like make it leave the screen? - if I do that then the text on the top left doesn't fully show...

That would be horizontal position. Perhaps it would be best to tell me what type of monitor is in there, so I can be more specific...

it is the original monitor

Really? Ms. Pac-Man shipped with 3 different types of monitors originally, and that's assuming it's not a multigame with a newer monitor. Plus, operators swapped monitors in and out all the time.

Look at the monitor chassis PCB, then look at the pictures here to see which one you have:

Ok I looked and on the monitor it says "WG 1309015" I don't see that on the link that you sent me - but I do see "WG".

I tried to Google that - but had no luck. It also says "964013" on another sticker.

I went to tweak the horizontal hold - however I only have a vertical hold. I didn't make any difference. Shifted the positioning of the screen from left to right.

ideas?

Just start clicking those picture links until you see one that looks like what you have. Start with ones that have WG or K in front of the numbers. Then come back and let us know which is the right one...

Okay, there is a horizontal hold pot on the main chassis. If you turn it slightly, you may be able to make it go away...

Are you referring to the Horizontal Hold? I did get a screwdriver and move it - it really didn't make much of a difference...I had to move it sooo slightly or it would distort the whole screen.

now what?

Thanks for all your help so far!

That's it. You should be able to tweak it to a spot that is stable and doesn't do that. If your caps are getting old, you may need to replace them first...

Yea I tried my best to get it "close" to stable, but it jitters.

Are these capacitors for just the video board? Would I get them from TwoBit?

Twobit? Are you in Austin?

May need a Video or Photo
for your symptom.
On a fixed pattern so all edges
of image can be seen good
and does it change after a few minutes?

Which chassis do you have for a 19" or 25"
has your monitor been in storage?
Did you clean off around the crt anode?
and checked for bad connection to the inputs
and around the Board?
