I have fixed a few arcade machines but i am absolutely stumped on this one...
So I just recently got this Pacman / Galaga machine and it needs a little work: When i plug the machine in and boot it up, it works fine. Apart from a little hazing and jittering around the text when i am looking at the screen without anything really animating, it looks fine but if i play it for a few minutes or let it sit for about the same amount of time, it goes to a grey screen that looks like one of the syncs is messed up (looks like the screen adjustment is folded into itself if you can kinda picture it.) I need to get a new usb cable for my phone and i can upload some photos to show you whats going on, but i cant atm. When i do anything after this happens it doesnt change anything on the screen (IE: no changing colors or change in "pixels" so I was assuming its either a bad monitor, or something with the powersupply (my tron machine did the same sorta thing for a while but it was still outputting to the video kinda.)

Normally I try to figure this out but I cant seem to find any repair guides/schematics for this one so I am stumped.

Thanks

I got a new cable, heres that picture

yes, if i put a coin int, it coin's in and if i start a game i can hear it, it plays all of the sounds properly and stuff changes soundwise (push the fire button i hear the ship fire) but the screen is frozen in that position.

Then I'd start by recapping the monitor and fixing any cold solder joints on it.

alright, my cap kit came in and i recapped the monitor, fixed the problem, all i have to do now is get the time to set the colors and biases and stuff to compensate for the new parts (i noticed after the recap, the monitor was a little red so thats just time when i get it)

I hope this holds, i was only able to test the system for like 25 min after the work, so only time will tell, either way, a friend of mine had an extra WG7400 yoke/board set laying around so if it goes bad, i will just swap that out and hopefully the tube isnt bad.

thanks for all the help

Glad you got it going.

Since this is a monitor issue... the thread is now relocated to the monitors section.

thanks, i have left it running at the guys house for the past couple days, so i'll find out if its holding tomorrow :D
