Hi since this website has got me on the right track with my claw machine, I thought I would ask for info/advice about my Ms Pacman multicade arcade that I purchased as a wedding gift for my wife.

I was wondering what type of cabinet I have. I will be repainting the outside, cleaning it up a little more and putting side graphics on it . I also am wondering what kind of control panel I have. There is a larger button on the left and two small buttons on the right. It doesnt look like the control panels I have seen

It is currently a multicade with Ms Pacman, Galaga, Donkey Kong, and Frogger. I was wondering what my options would be if I opted to convert it to a mulitcade with more selections? The circuit board has a label with PLZ-VOO1 VER201. Would it be as easy as swapping one board out for another? Is this a specific type of board/arcade?

Also it is currently set up on free play. Would I have to manipulate the DIP switches to change it to running on credits? We would like to continue to play without having to start from the begining

Attached are pictures of the arcade.

Sorry for all of the questions, just starting to get addicted wish I had room for more.

Thanks in advance

Need to see the side of it but pretty sure that's a pacman

You should be easily able to change it to a 60-in-1. That will ad a lot of games to your set up. A new control panel overlay (Ms Pacman) will make a drastic improvement to it also. You may want to convert the player 1 and 2 start buttons to the original style at the same time.

Yep, Pacman. Some people have had good luck removing black paint from games, you might be able to uncover the original art.

Its a pacman cab. A 60-1 board would be the easiest upgrade. Just unplug your board and plug in the new board and your up and running. You might need to add a button or two but honestly I cant remember if there are any games that use more than one button on the 60-1 board.

Phoenix, Pleiades, Qix, 1942, Scramble, Super Cobra, Space Panic, Shao-lin's Road and Xevious. Also, Gunsmoke uses 3 buttons. There may be more, got that from a site with a list of games on the board, although it didn't list Pleiades as using 2 buttons, but it has a warp button in addition to the fire button.

It could also be a Galaxian cab. There doesn't seem to be any yellow peeking out from underneath and I do see some white. Either way, they are essentially the same cabinet. There are also 4 extra bolts on the side that neither cabinet had originally.

The control panel does indeed look like it was a Pacman control panel originally by looking at the bolts holding the center joystick. The buttons have all been changed though.

So I will be looking at picking up a 60 to 1 board. I see some for sale on these boards. Are all 60-1 boards Jamma boards? Is that what I am looking at getting for this cabinet? I am struggling with the terminology of different board names.

Also my joystick hesitates a little when playing Ms pacman, but not the other games. Could this just be a micro-switch that may need replacing?

If it is a Pac cabinet, there will probably be yellow paint overspray around the coin bucket area. Ops often overlooked the dipswitch settings tag when converting games. Its usually located on the panel above the monitor glass. My Raiden (Ms. Pac cab) still has its original dipswitch tag.
