I have a Ms Pacman cocktail was restoring put everthing back together new fuses and working pcb. The game works fine if I do not plug the wire harness in once I do that it blows the 1amp fuse. I check the voltage comming to the fuse and it is right at 7 v any ideas what to try next.

Thanks John

Look closely at the wire harness that blows the fuse when plugged in. Make sure that it is plugged in correctly and none of the pins are bent. You may want to check for voltages/ground at the connections.

post a pic of the patient.

Pac boards have a power rectification circuit onboard. If the diodes on that circuit are shorted it will blow that fuse. I'd test all components of the power rectification/regulation circuit for shorts.

And don't forget that pacman boards have the copper foil traces at the edge connector (especially the power handling ones) lift up and flop loose to short to adjacent traces.
