I recently picked up a Ms Pacman cabaret. The game will not coin up. When the game is powered up the screen is scrambled. I did hit the red SW1 switch. There is still neck glow with no picture now. Is this a sync issue, need recapped, or a board issue?? Any ideas on a fix?? What is this worth in good working order. It has a PCMS #2787 piece of paper stapled to the inside.

That looks like a bad ribbon cable or connection to the AUX card. Try taking the z80 off of the AUX board and put it in the place or that 40 pin ribbon cable connector on the main board. Make sure you put the IC in correctly. If it comes up as PacMan with the wrong charactors then your issue is with the ribbon cable and/or the ocnnections in between. If it still doesnt come up reset the ROMs in Row 6 (next to the CPU socket) and make sure that the little daugher boards that plug into the main board are in correctly.

I hit the test button and it began to make loud beeping sounds. Is this a code to tell me what is wrong? Also is there a place online I can download a copy of the manual?

Also looks like either the board is not outputting red or your monitor is not displaying red. The entire image is only blue, green or a aqua-colored white for color.

It is frozen due to either a bad SyncBuss controller, bad Z80 socket, bad cable to daughter board, bad daughter board (rare) or bad VRam controller.

Make sure the daughter cards are plugged in correctly -- the notch in the chips must face the same direction as those on the main board---away from the edge connector. If plugged in backwards, you will need to replace the boards.
