Everything plays and sounds fine until
the first maze after the jr intermission...
There is a hum while eating dots, eating ghosts and
when ms pac dies...if your in a part
of the maze with no dots, no hum.
Perhaps one of you experts can shed some light
on this...I'm a little lost

Thanks

Weird. I wonder if it is just coincidence. Meaning, perhaps the board warms up by that time and starts doing it. Have you let the game warm up a while and then play with the same result? Is there a Multipac kit on the board? If you play 2 back to back games, does it happen at the same time? Sorry I can't be much help, but this is interesting.

seems to do it same time, every time...no multi pac installed

btw, the hum is present along side of the regular sounds...it does not replace them

So it's a hum bar replace the caps on your pcb
sometimes when caps heat up they start to fail

I was kinda thinking the same thing...odd part is it only starts on that screen.
The first few screens are fine until after the jr intermission.
Video display is perfect (no hum bars)
Guess I can try pcb caps and see what happens..can't hurt :)

I'd try it then check your EPROMs data

That was so brief it was hard to tell it almost sounded like a floppy drive to me. But try recapping your board and possible changing the audio amp.
