I would like to revert the Ms. Pac Man w/speed chip back to original. What do I need for this to happen? I can see which chip it is, but I don't know if it replaced another chip (my guess is yes), or if it just filled an originally empty socket (I'm thinking probably not).

Any help appreciated!!

Thanks.

I really have to ask, since this post is out here- how/why did the speed up chip become so prominent in these games? My Ms. Pac at home came with the speed up chip already in it, and I'm about to bring one back to life (hopefully) and I'm wondering if it too has the speed up chip in it. I see alot of boards that have the speed up chip in them too.

I played this game alot as a kid, and can't ever remember saying "man I wish Ms. Pac went faster..."

I have it and really don't care for it...

It speeds Ms Pac up, but the ghosts are the same speed. Big deal, so you can out run the ghosts and kick the games butt quicker! Unless I'm missing something here?

I removed it but still have it...

Well the reason I've been keeping my Ms. Pac #2 is to have one of each variety too. I just couldn't get over how many machines were modded either BITD or now to include the speed hack. Then again, I have a pic somewhere of an arcade that had like 20 Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man machines lined up side by side, so I guess it was nice to have some in the lineup with the mod.

Its a love or hate thing. I dont like playing pac or mspac at regular speed, too slow.

I sell them for $9.45 shipped(USPS Priority) and can do cheaper if you want it shipped in a padded envelope (eprom in a tube) first class. It will be a NOS chip, not a pull.
