Over the summer my Ms Pac sound went. I can hear sound in the speaker while playing, almost like what you would hear if you took an old cassette tape, put it on fast forward, and listened to it while it was doing that. You can hear data processing while playing the game, but the sound tones that the data is supposed to be transformed into is non-existent.

I read up on the Web and saw that chips at 2K, 2L, and 2M are supposed to be checked, but when I looked at them on the board they are soldered on so I have no way to remove and reseat them.

If anyone can help with this I'd really appreciate it. Ms. Pac with no sound sucks.

Thanks Rip, I may have to take you up on that. I will forewarn you though, my board (actually the whole game) is a former Coney Island resident, so it's got some, uh, "custom" mods on it to say the least! There's even a switcher mounted in there that's not turned on, but it has wires going to it so I dare not remove it! :( It's stayed alive for 4 years for me though so you know what they say: if it ain't broke don't fix it.
