I got a Ms. Pac a in Octoberish? but the poor girl never worked. At best the monitor powered on but there def wasn't power getting to many places besides there. I hadn't had much time to give it much TLC until recently and I made a few discoveries.
After some new fuses (who the hell put those other ones in there?! they were all off) and fixing up the fuse block some (as well as tracing all sorts of wires to check on things) I fired it, checked lots of voltages, put the edge connector back on (ok this took a serious of days) and BAM! She's on.... well...
So it goes through garbage and eventually ends up (most times) stuck between rapidly changing (1 second intervals) between a test screen (by test screen I mean it's a series of white lines in a grid pattern) and attract mode. Attract mode seems normal for the one second it's up, but it then switches back (again and again).
There's no sound (save for a beep at times).
I should mention it doesn't do this on 100% of boot ups, sometimes it just displays a few characters/garbage.
I've seen this PCB work a few weeks ago in another Ms. Pac
Edge connector voltage runs @ at 6.8 (for the 7VAC) and 11.5/6 (for the 12VAC)
I'm probably going to replace a few of the AC pats (AC filter, fuse blocks, etc) and the harness but I'd like to get the thing in a bit better shape before I do that. May even go to a switching PSU, though I'd like to keep it as original as I can.
Suggestions? I'm going to put an order into to Bob Roberts soon so I'm hoping for enough insight into the problem and suggestions that may guide that purchase.
