I just installed a new Imperial 19" monitor in a Ms Pac Man and have a couple issues with it. First, there is a rather loud hum coming from the game that was not present with the old monitor. Second, there is a vertical bar that scrolls from left to right about every 20 seconds. Otherwise, the picture looks great. Any ideas on what to look for are greatly appreciated.

Very well could be a bad connection between the fuse block/fuse, or a bad connection in the edge connector. If it were mine, I'd clean both of those up really well first, before I replaced....See if that fixes or helps your problem.....

That was my thought after reading the articles. The machine did have a couple decades worth of dirt in it. Needless to say, it isn't one of mine. LOL!

Looks like you have a hum bar. Replace the fuse block. You can get one at radio shack. Most of the time that will cure it. 50 year old brass breaks down. Causes high resistance, high current draw.

BTW - depending on what monitor you took out of there, you may need to change the sync wiring slightly for it to work properly with the Imperial. If you originally had a G07, then you should remove the vertical sync wire. If you had a WG, then you don't need to, as it probably doesn't have one already...
