I bought a board off here that has a mod to turn Ms Pac Man board to fast or slow through dip switch settings. The board doesn't have daughter card with it the mod makes it where it doesn't need it. You can see many re ran traces on the back of the board.

Anybody know anything about this mod? What I really want to know is how to turn it into slow mode through the dip switch.

I have no idea. I'm sorry. My Ms. Pac Man has a ROM chip for the fast. I imagine if I wanted to make it slow, I would need to replace that with a slow chip. Sorry I'm not much help... I'm new.

don't be too hard on yourself, he is not much help either and should have posted a pic of the mod.

Riptor probably could look at a pic of it and tell you what is what.

I'll get a picture later on. Just figured it might be a well known mod and somebody know what I'm talking about.

Well I feel stupid. At least it works now!

Guess it pays to read the chip. I know Riptor decently well I'm pretty regular customer of his.

Prior to the menu based mods people are doing now the game select and fast slow were usually done with a toggle switch. In your case its probably a similar mod but they used the dip switch on board instead of a remote toggle switch. I would guess they cut the trace to dip 7 and ran a jumper to it but it could have been changed in the code also. Dip 7 is usually rack advance and is only used in troubleshooting. I find it very usefull, had plenty of boards with issues that only show up 4-5 levels in. Playing them through during testing could be very time consuming.
I would say if its working leave it alone. If you wanted a remote switch behind the coin door it would be easy enough to solder a wire to both sides of the dip and run the switch remote.
