I was in Belle Harbor Rockaway Queens last weekend helping out family who were hit by Sandy and found this in some wreckage near the beach. It must have been in the basement of one of the houses there. Its was a shame but it paled in comparison to the rest of the damage I saw.

Wow. The amount of human suffering connected to these images. And it's always sad to see a Ms. Pac like that, too.

Still no word re: Randyland and the boardwalk...

Neither words or pictures can explain what I saw there. Being there, seeing all of that and experiencing what it was like when we were there can not be explained. It is crazy.

I just shed a tear.... poor, poor Ms. Pac.
I honestly think it looks salvageable for parts. Maybe even recut or replace the missing parts and reassemble it together? The wood doesn't look horribly damaged and the paint looks better than ones I've seen from ops. Even if not, I would hang that kickpanel in my arcade.

Amazing the kickplate didn't come off... Too bad it wasn't a 60:1. :(

I honestly couldn't find the rest of it.

There is a chance the owner of it could be dead for all we know. Im sure at this point Brendon the owners could give a shit less about their mspac. Prolly more worried about there house, car, and their lives.

I hope for the best for all those people damage by sandy!

I feel bad and have thoughts about the lives disrupted / ended by these disasters. I also think (weirdly) that each one of these events affects our collecting community ( all of us indirectly i hope) in that every wildfire, hurricane, earthquake or what have you claims some games as well.
I hope all the nor'east collectors and their families are safe and that their lives will return to normal soon

Living in the Midwest, I didn't really hear too much about Sandy. I wasn't watching TV or listening to the radio much at the time, so I didn't hear or see to much about the destruction. Thank you for reminding me and everyone here.

Seems that people seems to forget the amount of devastation or perhaps theyre just not aware. Whole towns have been demolished. Lives taken. Homes are gone. A lifetime of mementos and possessions are gone forever. People are defending their property by shooting looters. Gasoline is being rationed. People have been buying whatever they can from store shelves. It is madness. The first two days after was almost a scene out of Escape from New York. The news doesnt show you this and it never will.

Statements like "I shed a tear..." for a video game when that same image shows a pile of someones life simply turns my stomach and just shows how little people give a shit for their fellow man.

Honestly do you think Jr Pacs obsession with PAC Man related things were going to grab some bench for human sympathy? Me and another member have had debates on J Pacs mental situation towards PAC man.

Growing up in NYC in the 70's and 80's, these type of storms were unheard of, I mean there were a few big snow storms but nothing at all like this or Irene. NYC was not and is still not prepared of these type of events and many locals interviewed just before it hit were so unrealistic about what the results of Sandy would be. This photo is just the tip of the iceberg of destruction, pain and suffering.

Why do you have to be so full of lemons? At least have semi-sweet lemonade.

I have been very worried and grieving for all the poor people who are in trouble. I just don't let it out on here. A tear wasn't just shed for the game ya know... Just makes me sad to see all the ruins.

More info. please? Why do you think I'm mentally crazy?!?!

You have stated twice you "shed a tear" for a video game. You stated you would "hang a kick plate" in your arcade. (which is a garage with 2 games and both PAC mans). I think about 90% of collectors do this for the nostalgic factor but you were born in the 90s? You're obviously obsessed with PAC man which is kinda crazy. I would not be surprised if you have PAC man bed sheets, pajamas, and walls laced with Pacman art or drawings. My mid teens I had Cindy Crawford, Micheal Jordan, and Jenny McCarthy on my wall. (not saying what I had was the norm but wasn't items from the 70s when I wasn't born yet)

I'm telling you, long game hunting trips we put aside about 10-15 minutes trying to breakdown what this obsession may stem from. No final verdict yet. I'm leaning towards your replacing something important in your life with this Pacman obsession.

What the heck are you talking about? This forum used for everything arcade related and keep most personal things to myself! How can you make such fast and black and white judgements?
I have a variety of things on my wall, thank you very much. Why should it matter that I love vintage arcade games in any resemblance to you grown-ups? How is it THAT much different than collecting say, Star Wars figures?
