I never really shared much about my Ms Pac resto that started last summer so here we go. Some of you may have seen the threads about my health issue that started last August and that caused me to put this Ms Pac project on the back burner. With the weather finally improving work has started again. This will be a stenciling job (my first) and I'm looking forward to how it will turn out. Here's a few before pics. The cab is in pretty rough shape as you can see, especially the nasty lock bar hole and the bottom needed to be replaced. The lockbar and lobottom issues were addressed last summer as well as some bondo work, but a fair amount of work remainded when it was put on hold.
In another thread I had asked for questions on replacing the bottom and fixing that lockbar damage. The bottom was a pain because it originally had rabbet and dado joints and even trying to be careful the grooves were damaged. For the lockbar damage, I cut the damaged area more square and used a patch and piece of luan backing to fill that void. Here's how that turned out....pretty good I think.
I know prep work is really important so I'm being picky and getting it as good as I can. The back edges of the cabinet needed a lot of work and so did the corners. The plan is to get all metal parts powder coated.
