What is a fair price for a nice working Ms. Pac Man or so the guy says. He says it has not been turned on or played for 10 years. I will find out tomorrow when I see it. So if it checks out whats the going price these days.

I picked this up today for $200 non working. Got it home and cleaned the edge connector and bam it works great.

I'd also say that Ms Pac had a VERY fluctuating price tag based on market.
Here in my area, you will be hard pressed to find one for less than $500, and a good clean one is going to be closer to $1000. Now, not that I pay that for it, but that's the market here.

They sell for around $500-$600 around here for pretty nice ones. Operators still want a grand lol... My friend just sold 3 of them all pretty nice unrestored. $500 each they did move pretty fast..

I think if you get a working one in decent shape for under $500 your doing prety good..

The price on a Ms.Pacman is more reflective on the artwork than the working state in my opinion. A dead game with beautiful kick plate, sideart, bezel, and marquee is worth more in my book than a hideous cab with working guts.

...but to answer your question in PDX CL, a working one can sit if priced over $600.

I think that statement nails it... I feel that way about most games I get now..

I agree with the others: Ms. Pac is all about the cabinet condition. Not only because they made so many of them, but it's one of those games that looks extra craptacular if things are worn and/or faded.

I paid $150 for mine but it had no side art, had been partially sanded and needed a power cord. I have put on a restored control panel with the correct joystick and overlay, added an unfaded Marquee and am getting ready to prep for paint.

You should consider how much its going to take to get it to the condition you want it in. Make a list of parts and add the total up plus original purchase price.

The price on ANY CLASSIC GAME is more reflective on the artwork than the working state in my opinion. A dead game with beautiful kick plate, sideart, bezel, and marquee is worth more in my book than a hideous cab with working guts.

Listen to Gozer. He is wise.

I can think of a number of exceptions to this. You're telling me that the artwork on games like Zoo Keeper, Quantum, I, Robot, Omega Race, Q-Bert, Qix etc. dictates the price more than their working states?

Yes. I am a collector, not a player or a restorer. Your Mileage May Vary.

Understood. But, in general, I don't think this holds true for most buyers. There are too many desirable games out there which had lousy or minimal artwork to begin with - like Paperboy - that people are plenty happy just having a working version of, and paying well for those.

$500. If it's nice and you find one for less, grab it. I wouldn't go over $600 unless it was just super-nice and you really want it.

If the guy has just the one machine and isn't a collector..then offer 200 cash .. but bring extra not to exceed 400

I picked it up today $200 and it worked after I cleaned the edge connector!!!!
