Evening all and thanks for looking. I have a Ms. Pac with a speed up mod. When I first fired it up, there was a narrow picture and the toons were stuck at the top of the maze. Replaced E1 and E2, now the game seems to run fine. But still have video issues. Still not filling the full screen. I have not seen a picture that shows this problem. This board is being tested in a full working non mod cab. Did sub out all of the Ram, add-on boards and they fully work on the working board. I did not swap the Roms, not sure if they will work with the added cap. The Daughter board is bad though, it will click the coin mech and not boot the game. So I know the speed up board is bad, but that is the least of the problems at this time. R3 has been swaped and is fine. I did make a quick little web page with pictures. (not sure how long I can use the space, but for the time it's up)

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Looks like this is a monitor adjustment issue. Adjust your vertical size, and tweak your horizontal hold/freq...

I have tried adjusting the monitor on the orginal cab. Will not change. The monitor that the pictures were taken on works fine with another board.

Ok.. I tried to adjust those settings.

when I adjusted the vertical, The full image did not expand to fill the screen. The toon's did get much fatter.

Horizonal freq, had to adjust back to get a stable image.

Could this still be a monitor issue?

update on the issue. This ends up not being a monitor issue. If is leave the board powered up for about 10 mins, the screen will start to shift from the smaller size to the full size. After a bit it will be stable. When the screen is full size, the left portion of the maze still looks cut off. but the right side is perfect.

Monitor has been recaped. Works fine with another Ms. Pac-man. At this time the cab is my test rig. When I notice that then the board will flash to full size, the M1, M2 and M3 are getting quite warm. Time to try replacing those IC.

1M & 3M are custom proms and normally run hot. 2M is warm because its between the two. Besides, all three of these chips are part of the sound section.

Thank you. Those IC did have a socked on them. Replaced the sockets and the static went away. Just was wondering about the heat, because after a while the screen will snap to full size.

Made a Video logic probe. Turns out S2 IC was bad. Picture snaped right into place with full maze. Pulled the R3 out of my working board to test with, when place to old IC back in, same thing. Small screen and parts of the maze missing.
