Am I crazy here, shouldn't these be 44/47 sockets? 555s are 6vac, right? Almost melted my #555 LEDs.. Anyone know what the right socket style is? Attachments IMG_7038.jpeg 309.5 KB · Views: 6

LEDs are smart and just won't light. lol it makes sense to offload those to +12V because it's less load on the +5V circuitry.

Sorry, I'm not sure what you're saying about offloading them to +12V. Can you explain? I was thinking of just putting in the correct 44/47 sockets, and then putting the correct LEDs in

Ah, thank you!! So I think they might be the correct bases.. and I'm just trying to shove a #555 in them. Anyone have a recommendation for LED #194 or 161??

The 555 LEDs will burn up because they are rated for 5v. I remember being so confused the first time I installed a 555 LED and trying to figure out why they were getting so hot.
