Hmm...spraying water inside a wooden box prone to swelling and warping, filled with rust-prone components and electronics...dunno if that's exactly the route I would have gone![]()
If I saw her sitting topless and sun bathing in your driveway like that....I'd hit you up with an upper-decker and run like the wind!!! ;-)

When I've had cabs that dirty, I usually start by using a soft wide paint brush to break loose all the dust and dirt, vacuum the hell out of it and use some old, mildly soapy wrung out damp rags to wipe everything down.
Make sure the monitor chassis' dry - water likes to settle under the flyback - causing a nice bacon sizzle sound and pulsing picture (turn it off immediately and let dry for another day - had this happen to me, and after an extra day the pic was perfect)....also if the underlay wasn't rippled before the "wash" it's more or less ruined now - like a book that gets wet, those paper underlays won't recover from water.

That type of Ply is pretty good at resisting water as long as you don't let it soak in it for long periods of time. It's also helps that it's 110+F here to help it dry quickly.
Now if the cabinet is made from MDF, then don't hose it down.
Here is my Joust as I'm cleaning it out....
