I bought a ms. pac upright today, and the gameplay was noticeably sped up, but not really in a fun way, everything is faster, except the sound. There is a "Macgyvered" looking chip at 6F that has hand written "Ms. pac fast" on it. Ever see such a thing? Must be one that an operator put in to shorten peoples' play time back in the day.

Ms Pac speed chips aren't really unusual. I have seen them hand labeled as well as printed labels but most often I see no label at all. Regular speed chip sets are carried by a few people including Bob Roberts, or you may find someone willing to swap with you.

I thought in a speed chip only Ms. Pacman speeds up, so she is faster than the ghosts? On mine, all of the gameplay is sped up equally, including the amount of time the ghosts stay blue...

You sure its not the hardware hack, sounds like it. It speeds up the entire game.

i believe there are a few different versions of the "speed up" chip. one speeds up only Ms. Pacman, and another speeds up her and the ghosts. i don't know if there is one that speeds up all of the gameplay including the mobile fruit, but it wouldn't surprise me if there is.

If you just need a regular speed 6F chip, ordering from hobbyroms.com will be cheaper for you, since they're in Canada.
