Not nearly a restoration, but I'm happy with how the changes I've done have improved this machine. I bought it not working. The previous owner had tried to fix it by wrapping tin foil around the fuses "to make sure stuff got power". Wow. Pic taken just after I got it home from it's 150 mile trip:

Took it to eXidy who instantly knew that the board was junk. He swapped my board for a good one, and it was playing. The tube was pretty much shot though. It was much darker at the top than the bottom. EXidy hooked me up with a Nintendo monitor for me to salvage the tube from. I've never done a tube swap before, so this was a learning experience. Here is what the monitor looks like now (it's actually a better image than the pic shows, I was shaking when I took this because I got hit by the monitor just prior):

Next up was the crappy CPO. Again, I've never done one before, but I'm more than happy with the results. I also cleaned the buttons and the joystick, but I don't have a good before pic of them. Before:

After that, I installed a new kick plate, and cleaned up the bezel and the rest of the cabinet. Looks 10x better now:

Well, that's about it. I know it's not much, but I just had to brag a bit.

FYI, I've had luck using magic eraser on the side art. Its a big job, but you can "bring back" the original pink color thats sun faded.

Technically, you are removing paint but the color does come back

I just did that on the front, but it started to eat through to the yellow in some spots (nothing too bad though). Looks a little better though. Thanks for the tip. The most noticeable difference is the black scuff above the right ghost's left eye. You can see the difference where the lockbar fade line, and how it disappeared.

What an improvement. Although the cab has some fading, it looks pretty good. I know I'd be happy with it especially when you consider the cost and work to repaint/restencil it. I think the only thing I'd do is find a non faded marquee.

Nice work to a great addition to any gameroom. - Barry

I agree very nice. Have you ever thought about putting pink tmolding on it? I know it is not original but take a look at this one http://www.chompingquarters.com/games/ms-pac-man I think it really makes the cab pop.

Did you just leave the license stickers on the marquee or is it broken? Hard to tell from the last few pics.

EDIT, I see they're just stickers. Got a new one coming or do you plan to clean this one up?

Looks pretty faded.

Yeah, those are just tax stickers. I might get a new one, but honestly I'm not a huge Ms pac fan, so this one is for sale. If potential buyers complain about it, I'll throw a new one in.
