I noticed something odd today.
I noticed that my NOS cardboard Ms. Pac-Man bezel had different colors than theglass one I had seen at a local arcade. The border for INSTRUCTIONS and POINT VALUES was pink, some pink is red, and some red art is orange. What is this about? Was the screening confused? Ms. Pac-Man's features on my cardboard bezel are red instead if pink.

Where did you get the supposed 'NOS' cardboard bezel?

I am unaware of any official bezel for Ms Pac that was cardboard. AFAIK they are all screened on glass.

The cardboard bezels were I believe in the last run to save money. I got it from TDL.

I would say one of three things occurred:

1. You have a Repro and not NOS

2. As the years of production went on the art was sometimes slightly changed by the manufacturer or slightly different colors were used. There is a thread around here some where displaying all the differences in peoples Temptest CPOs that is a good example of this.

3. You are talking about approximately 30 year old art, that have traveled and been stored who knows where, things fade, and do not fade consistently.

Edit: looks like #1 is the winner

The wrong colors match others on the art, so I don't think it was fading.
I do know colors changed. That may be this. There are also 9 art variations in Ms. Pac CPOs.
Perhaps it's a repro? I'm confused as this was sold as NOS.

Sold by whom? It wouldn't surprise me at all for someone to try and pass of repro stuff as NOS, especially if it was on ebay.

edit: nevermind, I saw the thread from TDL that was linked above.

I have sent a complaint to the seller.
Does anyone know who made this?

I can feel the edges of different layers of the colors, I can tell this was cheaply made.

NOS does not mean original to the game, produced by the original manufacturer, or worth anything.

NOS = New Old Stock

Oh come on, let's not go down this road any more. This subject has been banged more times than Phetishboy's pool boy.

The reasonable assumption here is that New Old Stock artwork (NOS) is legitimate original artwork that the manufacturer would have used on their games in production at the time.

Reproduction artwork, no matter HOW old, can never be sold as NOS. That's just plain deceptive. Why? This thread is a great example. Jr. Pac buys what he thinks is authentic artwork for his cab only to find out it's not what he thought it would be. In his mind, he's been swindled.

That said, this hobby is 'buyer beware.' Do your homework before plunking down the ca$h.

Yup. The pics looked good, he had good feedback, so I thought it was worth a try.

Looking at the for sale thread, I dont see an issue. He says they are ms pac bezels and took 4 pictures of them. What did the seller do wrong? Show me.

Learn the hobby before you pull out your wallet. You bought the wrong thing, but i dont think the seller is at fault for that.

+1 to that. Seller did his part, buyer could see what he was getting.

For the record: the only OEM bezel that I know of for Ms Pac Man is reverse screen printed on glass. Anything else is not OEM.

When they were for sale, they said NOS. The text was removed since they all sold.

For somebody that runs around and critiques everybody's Pac/Ms. Pac artwork and claims to know 9 variations of Ms. Pac CPO's, I find it extra hilarious that you bought a cardboard bezel and thought it was original.
