Mr Rogers Plays Donkey Kong

The only thing that would make this clip better is if Mr. Rogers got into a 20 minute back ally fight seen with the guy that comes to collect the quarters.

Great vid, I've always been a fan of Fred Rogers.

I Agree. I always watched Mr. Rogers growing up. That is how I learned how Graham Crackers were made, also how Crayons and Masking tape was made. That was a good show and very informative. Plus, Lady Aberline was hot. :p

They don't play it anymore, except like at 5 in the morning every other Tuesday depending on the earths rotation on our PBS channel. Which is sad as my kids don't get to see it often, as it is on pretty early and pretty rarely. At least for Our PBS station anyway.

It think it would be cool to hang with Mr. Rogers in an arcade.

I didn't get PBS as a kid so I hardly saw the show. Captain Kangaroo and Romper Room (the shows I could see as a kid) never went to an arcade!

I love the quote from King Friday, "in case anyone's interested, there's a kill screen coming up"....

"Boomerang! Toomerang! Zoomerang! Turn the DK into a Centipede!"

Ah........ PBS. Classic. Capt Kangaroo, Sesame Street, Mister Rodgers, and Electric Company. BITD when we only had 4 (sometimes) 5 channels to choose from. When you had to turn the TV channel by hand, no remote. My kids look at me like I'm an idiot when I tell them this! I told my oldest that if the President was on, you were outta luck!

Good vid! Rodgers was a good man. Seems creepy by today's standards but really wasnt. Of course, try to get a character on TV with the name "Mr Mc Feely" now. Yikes!

I miss mr Rogers. I watched it every morning at 8am and I always wished I could have that layout they show the trolley rolling on in the opening credits. It was so detailed for it's time. I used to like the cat puppet that only said meow when he talked lol

I call complete and utter BS on the "creepy" factor. Mr Rogers was a huge father-figure for me growing up, and I still think of how easily he talked with kids and kept their attention, earned their (my) respect and was still a grownup. I try to remember those things when interacting with my own kids.

If Fred Rogers is creepy by "todays standards" then todays standards are flat wrong.

Not that it was around back then, but I think it wouldve been cool if he tried to play Mortal Kombat with the kid, and the kid did a brutality or some sick fatality on Mr. Rogers.
