Anyone know exactly which types of lights this game takes? The manual says 555s, but I am not sure if that is right or not.

Marco's site list some weird bulb for the maze, but I can't find them anywhere else so maybe someone who actually knows can chime in and give a hand please.

Most bulbs in the playfield will be the standard 194 wedge bulbs. You can easily find them at a hardware store, auto parts store, Radio Shack and Wal-Mart.

The maze bulbs are #CM7381, I would imagine those are harder to find, maybe Mouser has them, or Marco as you mentioned. Radio Shack might have something similar. Note that there are acually going to be 50 bulbs for that matrix. Each dot has 2 bulbs, with a yellow cap and red cap for each one.

194 lamps are 14V so they will be noticeably dimmer than the original lamps. You'll want 555 lamps which are 6.3V. The vast majority of pinball machines use 6.3V lamps for GI and feature lamps. You'll also find this information in the manual on page 20.

I buy mine from pinball life. You won't find them any cheaper.

I don't know if any bulbs are out, but I figure since I am doing a full shop out on this I am replacing all of the bulbs also so that I don't have to do it later.

it is around $35 just for the maze lamps, but I figure it is better to do it now than wait until later when they are harder to find. If I could get a full supply of clear and red LED's for a good price I would go and desolder all the lamp sockets and install led's, but I think that might be more expensive and I am not sure of the life expectancy of led's either.

First thing is first though that PS board in the cab has to be fully rebuilt because most of the stuff is missing. Will run me around 12-13 dollars to fully rebuild it minus all of the connector pins that are there and will just need a good cleaning.

The rectifier board has parts missing? Weird.

Which ever one is in teh bottom of the cab with the 5 fuses on it. I am unsure of the name, but yeah most of the stuff on it is gone.

Starters: When I flipped the machine on before I noticed the PS board was shit the cpu/mpu whatever the hell it is had the led come on, no flashes, but stayed on. I am guessing this probably has something to do with the ps board in the cab.

It's pretty tough to do any troubleshooting without a good rectifier board (that's the one in the bottom of the machine).

If you really want to test the MPU you can do it out of the machine with a switching power supply pretty easily.

You wouldn't happen to have an MPU board laying around for a SuperSonic would you? The reset circuit in that one is corroded to hell and back.
