Mr. & Mrs. Pac-Man Pinball Left Slingshot help...

Well I replaced a bad coil on the left slingshot. The old was was blowing the solenoid protection fuse (under the playfield) and eventually smoked and melted until it was rendered useless. New coil seems to work, but is still blowing that same fuse.

I have been all over the Solenoid driver PCB and all solder joints have been repaired and look fine. Wiring looks fine too, I cant find a short anywhere.

The game will work fine as long as the wires are cut from the left slingshot coil. Only now theres no left slingshot (obviously) as well as the return for the 4th left drop target which I guess is somehow linked to the left slingshot (both use an orange/red wire).

Any ideas?

Does the slingshot fire automatically and stay on if it's hooked up and a game is in progress? If so, your drive transistor is probably bad. Might be bad even if it isn't simply because of the bad coil...

If I hook up the left slingshot and put in a new fuse, sometimes it will kick on and sometimes not, but it will always blow that fuse in a second or two upon powerup, only way around this is to disconnect that left slingshot. I assume your referring to the transistor on the heat sink? Wouldnt it blow a fuse no matter what if it was bad?
