Since my wife's favorite game is mr do and I haven't found a mr do cab yet, I'm toying with the idea of building one as a conversion. Is there decent repro artwork, or accurate scans and/or vector images? Or for that matter is anyone willing to scan their artwork and let me work on the vectorizing?

Just wondering how viable this approach will be.

Zorg's site has the generic Universal side art and the circular Mr. Do art: http://vectorlib.free.fr

There really is no conversion that will compare to a dedicated Mr. Do. Ironically, mine WAS actually a conversion, but in the right Universal cab and with the right lighted back glass:

I love this game but the cabinet looks like ass- I'd probably prefer a conversion where I could do something custom to it. Especially with some of the great cabs Universal put out, Mr. Do is a fail. See Magical Spot

You're nuts. The side art looks circussy, which is perfect as Mr. Do! is a frickin' clown.

You call that 'circussy'? A couple lines painted on a white background? And I actually started to value your opinion... Jesus.

Stop talking about my nuts.

The colored lines remind me of a circus flyer, specially with the wild west/wagon train font that UNIVERSAL uses. There's no need to be rude.

Gotta agree with my Steelers brother here, Phet. Ain't nothin' circussy about that side art.

OTT, what about a cpo and marquee? Also, I read somewhere that the bezel isn't accurate.

I like Mr. do alot. That's the machine I have except it's painted white on the sides and front. I'd like to have the art.

ShanMan, as i think i mentioned at the show, i've got a working board and a DC harness you can have really cheap. i think the only thing i had to cut when removing the harness was the video connector as it was specific to the monitor in the cab.

The original Mr. Do Universal cab is flipping sweet, I don't know how anyone could hate on it. Illuminated back glass, rounded countours on the cab, definitely pretty unique. I have a Mr. Do in a venture cab and I would trade it in a minute for a dedicated universal cab. I plan on eventually getting a dedicated machine, as Mr. Do is one I grew up playing. I will gladly take anyone's Universal cab that they do not like!

All dedicated Universal games look awesome. I would love to gets me a cab, but have never seen one in decades around here. Due to the simplicity of the artwork, it would be awesome to see stencils or vinyl wrap for these cabs..

I have both pieces of control panel artwork ready to go to a printer BUT because of the large number of colors (8 I think) it would be a little pricey. Plus the plexi has a beveled edge to add a little more cost. I toyed with the idea of doing a large sheet of them at once and then getting them water jet cut but until the Berzerk/Frenzy crap is outta my life, I have no time.

Not unique to Mr. Do:

Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have one. I was just pointing out that Universal half-assed it. Take a look at Magical Spot or Space Panic (came out before Mr. Do)- Now, they did these up right!

More like Mr. Don't or Mr. Doo Doo. I've never liked the original Mr. Do.The only game in the Mr.Do series that I ever play is Mr.Do's castle, and it's not all that often.

As far as the cab goes,I've see a few pop up on ebay from time to time. Some dedicated, some not. Most that I've seen were priced pretty low.You could go the conversion route. That "circusy" Uni cab I think looks pretty nice with a Mr.Do in it,so I'd say go that route if you can't find an original Do cab.

That is a bootleg similar to the non-Falcon version of Crazy Kong.

You sure? Mr. Do! was licensed by Eastern Micro Electronics for the East Coast market...seems like a lot of artwork for a bootleg. I'm not familiar with the story behind Crazy Kong.
