I had the same issue with my mr do that I built up from a bare pristine universal cab, which was destined to become a devil zone but never made it off the assembly line.
My cp is like that, but a friend of mine (charger) has a dedicated mr do that has a different latch style than yours or mine. So I'm not sure how it is supposed to be but I'll tell you what I did. I used standard latches from Bob. The only problem is they need to be mounted in such a way that the latch stays latched. If you mount them directly to the cabinet's surface right below the bezel, it won't hold because there's too much angle. So I cut out some thin particle board (1/2" or 5/8" - don't recall exactly) that matched the shape of the latch's mounting plate. That removed the angle and the latches work great.
I'd love to have it be the "correct" latching setup, but I can't even envision what it would look like. So I'm happy enough with this.
If you want some pics, shoot me a PM with your email address and I'll get some for you.
