Looking for some help/guidance with transporting a Time traveler I may be getting. The seller advised it comes apart in 2 pieces, but have to be transported upright. I have a large suv Nissan Armada with the second row seats removed so it's pretty big. I thought I would be able to remove the monitor and laser disk and secure that up front and lay the other 2 parts flat. I believe it would fit that way but he seems to think the parts have to remain upright since the Formica is fragile. I've never seen any photos of how it comes apart. I do have a large landscape trailer, but prefer not to use it if possible since it's quite a drive and the trailer bouncing makes me nervous especially with a laser disc game. If anyone out there has any photos how it comes apart of how I should move it I would really appreciate ti. Thanks!

I would remove the laserdisc player and use the landscape trailer. It is bigger then people think. Also, the cabinet has laminate sides. Both cabinets I have owned the laminate is starting to detach. Be very careful trying to slide the game. You will break the laminate. I would remove the laserdisc player and header and place them in the vehicle. Blanket wrap and shrink wrap the cabinet, with the back of the cabinet facing forward. I would latch the 2 pieces together (assembled) on the trailer for stability. These things go for stupid money at the moment. Hate to see it damaged during transport. Hope this helps.

That sounds like the plan! I will post how I make out with it. Thanks for your help and sending over the pictures and measurements.

I'm with this guy. Either rent a truck or a van big enough, or trailer it. Wrap with blankets and then plastic.

And if you remove the laser player, see if they still have the transit screw. Bumps can cause head strikes and wreck the unit. Think GENTLE. Going over railroad tracks - SLOWLY. Stay off potholed roads.

Youll also have to take the marquee off. The 2 parts separate. The tv should be fine. It should be secured in the front half. Check one of my photos. Do what was recommended with the laserdisc player. Definitely dont leave the disc inside it. There are 4 latches, 2 on each side. You can see them in the photos(the photos are what I have on my phone right now). Be care to disconnect the harnesses that connect the 2 halves. When it is separated make sure the acrylic semi circle(i dont know what to call it) that the video reflects off of is also secured. If that thing gets messed up....good luck finding a replacement. I havent totally restored mine here. It is in shambles cosmetically(sat in a damp garage for over 10 years)but i did get it fully operational with original laserdisc player. I have new identical color and sheen laminate. Going to sand down the expanded mdf back to size. Respray and clean the inside. Im lucky. The back half with the time traveler logo was very dirty but in good shape! I dont have to replace that. I do have a replacement NOS "Hologram" plastic graphic for the front. I also put an LED tube in the top marquee.
