Moving a 70's style pinball machine, will it fit in car?

I have never owned a pinball machine before. I was wondering what the measurements are on an older one from the 70's. I know this sounds crazy but do you think I could fit one in my 2003 Grand Prix?

I am open to removing the seats in the car... It also has a good size trunk.

I drove Grand Prix's for a few years, and from what I remember, there is no way you'd be able to fit a pin in there. They're just too long, and too tall to fit that small height gap between the trunk and back seats.

I drive a Ford Escape now and they fit nicely :p

I brought a 70s pinball machine home from York in my Chevy Lumina. Had the head and legs in the trunk and the body in the back seat.

Can anyone get me a measurement of an old machine? Seriously... the machine is a bally delta queen. It's just a standard size machine from the 70's.

I think it might fit like mr gorf said with the head in the trunk and the body in the back seat.

I just need l/w/h... So I can go measure my car! :)

Thanks for your time in advance...

Smart car... that's crazy! Thanks for the link man that did help. The doc hooked me up with some measurement from one of his gottlieb wedge heads.

He said the body was around 22x22x52 on those. Looks like I might be in the ball park unless you guys know that the bally's are a different size.

The problem isn't always whether you have the space INSIDE the car, but whether you can actually get it in the door. You may have a wide enough car, or can push and tilt the passenger seat forward to get it in there at an angle, but you may not be able to get the door open far enough to get it in, nor make it in the space between the seat and the top of the door, even though there is enough space inside once you DO get it in. I moved an old EM inside a Dodge Caliber once, and the body slid in the hatchback just fine, but I really had to finagle the head to get it into the front seat because of the seat-to-roof opening....

my 77 gottlieb jet spin cabinet is 52 1/2 inches long,17 in tall and 22 1/2 in wide. remove the back box. (two bolts and unplug the wires. remove the legs and it might fit.
or get a friend with a truck or minivan. i hope this helps.

Backbox slides, somewhat uncomfortably, on top :)

Mod I was thinking about the door clearance too. The rear door might not swing open enough, so the body of the machine can slide in. The four bolts that hold the door on are right there with easy access. So I might half to unbolt the door then swing it out of the way towards the front door. Slide the body in and then bolt the door back up. Ten extra minutes tops to the process. I just need to do some measurements around the door and how wide it is inside.

As far as the truck goes it's sitting in my driveway broke down. I am not calling in any favors for another truck. I am not renting a truck either if I can help it. lol

Tell you what I should do is take the money for the pinball machine and fix the truck instead. Ya know I am to smart for that tho... The truck can wait for the income tax to get back. My first pin can't wait any longer.

hey if your looking for measurements for a delta queen, i have the exact same machine and i can take measurements for you. its the game with a picture of the big boat on the backglass.

I would love some measurements that would rock. Pm sent...
