Movie based Pinballs way better than movie based video games
There's probably no easy explanation for this, but has anyone noticed that while movie based video games generally really suck, some of the best pinball games ever were based on a movie? Addams Family, T2, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Hook, Indiana Jones, the list goes on (Star Trek: Next Gen, Twilight Zone, okay technically based on TV shows).
I realize with video games the problem is usually the developers are rushed to release the game in time for the movie and maybe that's not the case with pinballs but could it be something a little more cerebral? I would argue that because pinball games don't actually recreate scenes from the shows (except in very erudite ways) and instead capture the essence of the franchise, that better explains this difference.
